Bruins 3, Rangers 0: Tuukka Rask turned aside 30 shots to register his 25th career shutout as host Boston matched a season high with its fifth consecutive victory.

Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Loui Eriksson scored as the Bruins extended their point streak to nine games (6-0-3) with their fourth straight win over New York. Defenseman Torey Krug collected a pair of assists and Rask preserved his second shutout of the season by stopping nine shots in the final period.

Cam Talbot made 29 saves for the Rangers, who were blanked for the second straight game after winning 13 of their previous 14. New York went 0-for-3 on the power play while having its four-game road winning streak snapped.

Bergeron opened the scoring four minutes into the game, corralling the rebound of defenseman Dougie Hamilton's shot from the right point and knocking it between the pads of Talbot. Boston struck again early in the second as Krug sent a slap pass from the top of the left faceoff circle to Krejci, who steered it home at the 2:49 mark.

Rick Nash squandered a chance to cut the deficit in half nearly six minutes later, shooting wide on a breakaway, before the Rangers failed to convert on a pair of power plays. Eriksson made it a three-goal advantage midway through the third, gaining control of a loose puck on the doorstep and patiently waiting before lifting a wrister over Talbot's glove.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Krejci extended his point streak to five games and has three goals and eight assists in his last 11 contests. ... Rangers G Henrik Lundqvist's streak of 30 consecutive starts versus Boston came to an end, making it the first time another New York netminder got the nod against the Bruins since Kevin Weekes on April 8, 2006. ... The Bruins have decided to keep rookie RW David Pastrnak instead of sending him back to the American Hockey League, so Boston's next game - Pastrnak's 10th - officially will mark the first season of the 18-year-old's entry-level contract. ... Rangers C Derek Stepan sat out with an upper-body injury.
