Blackhawks 5, Avalanche 2: Defenseman Brent Seabrook snapped a tie with a power-play goal in the second period and Patrick Sharp added a man-advantage tally in the third as visiting Chicago halted Colorado's season-high winning streak at three games.

Nathan MacKinnon and defenseman Erik Johnson tallied for the Avalanche, who also had their six-game point streak (4-0-2) come to an end. Rookie Calvin Pickard made 28 saves in defeat.

Colorado took the lead 6:56 into the contest on MacKinnon's shot from the top of the right faceoff circle, but Chicago answered 31 seconds later as Saad converted a pass across the low slot by Toews. Johnson needed just 1:26 to put the Avalanche back ahead with a blast from above the right circle before Kane redirected defenseman Duncan Keith's slap shot from the right point with 3:41 left in the opening period to forge a 2-2 tie.

The Blackhawks moved in front for good with 6:46 remaining in the second session as Seabrook beat Pickard with a rocket from the right circle. Sharp doubled the lead at 8:14 of the third, when he scored from the right side of the crease after having a loose puck bounce to him from the right corner.
