Jets 4, Blue Jackets 2: Evander Kane scored twice as Winnipeg kicked off a three-game road trip on a winning note.

Bryan Little scored nine seconds into the contest and captain Andrew Ladd matched him with a goal and an assist for the Jets, who won for just the second time in six games. Michael Hutchinson turned aside 32 shots for his fourth win in as many starts.

Defenseman Jordan Leopold and Ryan Johansen replied for Columbus, which has dropped four straight and 13 of its last 15. Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves.

Little wasted no time putting Winnipeg on the board, gathering a Ladd pass in the slot while splitting a pair of Columbus defenders and lifting a shot past Bobrovsky. Leopold countered on a power play at 3:42 with a low shot from the edge of the right circle that eluded Hutchinson on the blocker side.

Kane put Winnipeg up for good at 16:25 of the second period on a crease-edge tap-in of a pinpoint Dustin Byfuglien pass, and Ladd extended the lead 31 seconds later with a shot from Bobrovsky's right that beat the screened goalie between the pads. Johansen made a game of it near the midway point of the third, cutting in front of the net and lofting a backhand shot past Hutchinson, but Kane added an empty netter with 18 seconds left to ice it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kane recorded his first multi-goal game since Jan. 5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. ... Both of Kane's goals were power-play tallies, marking the Jets' first game with multiple man-advantage goals since Nov. 4. Winnipeg came into the game mired in a 1-for-28 slump. ... Columbus has surrendered four or more goals in five of its last six losses.
