Canucks 4, Blackhawks 1: Jannik Hansen continued his torrid stretch by recording his first career hat trick as host Vancouver emerged victorious in Daniel Sedin's 1,000th career game.

Radim Vrbata netted his team-leading 10th goal and rookie Bo Horvat notched three assists for the Canucks, who improved to 10-3-1 in their last 14 contests. Ryan Miller finished with 24 saves to exact a small measure of revenge after being bounced by the Blackhawks from last season's playoffs while he played with St. Louis.

Kris Versteeg converted on the power play for Chicago, which has scored with the man-advantage in each of its last five contests. Defensemen Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook each notched an assist and Corey Crawford turned aside 26 shots as the Blackhawks saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

After extending his goal-scoring streak to three games with his first-period tally, Hansen deftly redirected Derek Dorsett's sharp-angle shot from the left corner past Crawford to give the Canucks a 2-1 lead. Vrbata provided insurance by converting from the doorstep with 2:24 remaining before Hansen completed the hat trick with an empty-net tally.

Vancouver drew first blood as Dorsett's backhanded feed from along the left-wing boards found an unmarked Hansen, who made no mistake in the slot at 13:13 of the first period. Versteeg answered 7:55 into the second, redirecting Keith's shot off a rolling puck from the point.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Sedin twins and Trevor Linden are the only three players in franchise history to appear in 1,000 games. ... Horvat's assists were the first of his career after scoring his first NHL goal in Vancouver's 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim on Thursday. ... Chicago RW Patrick Kane, who saw his four-game goal-scoring streak come to an end, absorbed a solid hit from Vancouver D Luca Sbisa during the first period. Versteeg came to Kane's defense but drew a roughing penalty for his response to Sbisa.
