Penguins 2, Maple Leafs 1: Pascal Dupuis scored twice and Thomas Greiss finished with 30 saves as visiting Pittsburgh skated to its eighth win in nine games.

Captain Sidney Crosby notched an assist for his NHL-leading 25th point for the Penguins, who have won six of their last seven meetings with Toronto. Defensemen Christian Ehrhoff and Robert Bortuzzo joined Brandon Sutter by recording one assist.

Blue-liner Cody Franson scored to extend his career-best point streak to six contests for the Maple Leafs, who saw their three-game overall winning streak and four-game home victorious stretch come to an end. Jonathan Bernier turned aside 38 shots in defeat.

Pittsburgh ended a scoreless draw with 2:42 remaining in the second period as Dupuis redirected Ehrhoff's low shot past Bernier. Dupuis doubled the advantage 15 seconds into the third, burying a one-timer from the slot following Crosby's backhanded centering feed from along the left-wing boards.

Franson trimmed the deficit over six minutes later as his shot from the point sailed past Greiss for his third goal of the season. Toronto was unable to net the equalizer despite enjoying a 6-on-4 advantage after Evgeni Malkin was whistled for a roughing penalty late in the third.
