Bruins 4, Devils 2: Rookie Seth Griffith snapped a tie with a highlight-reel goal late in the second period to spark host Boston to its fifth consecutive victory.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and two assists, Reilly Smith added one of each and Carl Soderberg scored on the power play as the Bruins wrapped up a perfect four-game homestand. Tuukka Rask won his fourth start in a row by turning aside 26 shots.

Jaromir Jagr scored his 708th goal to tie Mike Gartner for sixth place on the NHL's career list while Travis Zajac added a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which tumbled to its season high-tying fourth straight defeat. Michael Cammalleri collected a pair of assists in his return to the lineup and Cory Schneider made 19 saves.

The Devils tied it with seven minutes left in the second period on the milestone tally from Jagr, who took a pass off the boards before whistling a wrist shot from the right circle to the far corner. Griffith trumped Jagr five minutes later, breaking in alone on two players before muscling defenseman Marek Zidlicky off the puck and, with his back to the net, knocking a between-the-legs shot past Schneider.

Smith doubled the lead with 39 seconds left in the period, ripping a shot from the right hash marks past Schneider off a feed from Bergeron. Zajac opened the scoring 86 seconds into the contest, but Soderberg tied it on the power play midway through the period by converting a bouncing puck on the doorstep before Bergeron stole the puck from Eric Gelinas in front of the net and beat Schneider between the pads

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jagr also boosted his career point total to 1,765, six shy of tying Marcel Dionne for fifth place on the all-time list. ... Bergeron extended his point streak to four games while Zajac halted an 11-game goal drought with his first tally since Oct. 14 at Tampa Bay. ... Boston D Torey Krug was back in the lineup after a five-game absence but C David Krejci and D David Warsofsky sat out with an undisclosed injuries.
