Flames 6, Canadiens 2: Rookie Josh Jooris scored twice as visiting Calgary trounced Montreal.

Captain Mark Giordano and Curtis Glencross each recorded a goal and an assist while Lance Bouma and Markus Granlund also tallied for the Flames, who set a season high in goals in the opener of their five-game road trip. Blue-liner TJ Brodie collected three assists, rookie Johnny Gaudreau and Jiri Hudler each set up a pair of tallies and Jonas Hiller stopped 18 shots.

Max Pacioretty and Lars Eller scored for the Canadiens, who have dropped three of their last four. Carey Price made 30 saves in defeat.

Jooris opened the scoring at 4:58 of the first period, gathering a rebound of defenseman Dennis Wideman's point shot before deking around a fallen Price and sliding the puck into a partially open net. Granlund made it 2-0 with 27 seconds left in the session, as Hudler's shot from the slot hit him in the leg and sneaked past Price.

Glencross extended the lead with the only goal of the second period before Pacioretty tallied in the opening minute of the third. Jooris made it 4-1 on a power-play breakaway at 8:48 and Bouma iced things 2:20 later, one-timing a pass from Giordano after Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban slipped and fell at the Canadiens blue line to set up a 2-on-1 rush.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Montreal has scored the first goal just twice in 12 games this season. ... Hiller drew one of the biggest cheers of the night 6 1/2 minutes into the second period after he skated out to play the puck and lost an edge, sliding helplessly into the corner boards. ... Gaudreau has recorded two goals and six assists over his last seven games.
