Canucks 4, Blues 1: Ryan Miller made 31 saves against his former team and Nick Bonino scored early into the third period to snap a tie as visiting Vancouver ended its two-game skid.
Chris Higgins joined Bonino with a goal and an assist while Linden Vey added a power-play tally for the Canucks, who won all three meetings between the clubs last season. Jannik Hansen scored into the empty net for his second goal in as many games and Alex Burrows notched a pair of assists.
Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk scored a power-play goal in the second period for St. Louis, which failed to solve Miller in the third despite registering 15 shots on goal. Jake Allen turned aside 19 shots in his second start this season.
With the game tied at 1-1, Miller thwarted a chance by Jori Lehtera before Vancouver turned the tables and Bonino scored during a 3-on-1 rush at 4:54. The Canucks doubled the advantage seven minutes later as captain Henrik Sedin and Radim Vrbata exchanged passes behind the net before feeding Vey in front.
Vancouver opened the scoring 41 seconds into the contest as Higgins banked home the rebound of Burrows' shot. The Blues answered 7:38 into the second with the man advantage, as Shattenkirk wristed a shot from the faceoff dot that beat Miller high to the blocker side.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Canucks D Alex Edler recorded four blocked shots while playing in his 500th career game. ... Vancouver, which converted one of its two power-play opportunities, is just 2-for-15 in its last four games after scoring three times on 10 opportunities in the first two contests. ... Canucks LW Daniel Sedin saw his five-game point streak come to an end. He had one goal and seven assists during the stretch.
