Penguins 2, Rangers 0: Marc-Andre Fleury made 35 saves to record his second straight shutout and captain Sidney Crosby snapped a 13-game goal-scoring drought in the postseason as visiting Pittsburgh seized a 2-1 advantage in its Eastern Conference second-round series.

Jussi Jokinen netted his team-leading fifth tally while also extending his point streak to seven games. New York, which was playing its sixth contest in nine days, hosts Game 4 on Wednesday.

After making 22 saves in Pittsburgh's 3-0 win on Sunday, Fleury registered his franchise-record eighth playoff shutout with a little help from the iron. Benoit Pouliot hit the post late in the first period, Martin St. Louis did the same early in the second and Mats Zuccarello's bid deflected off the crossbar later in the middle session.

Crosby ended his pronounced postseason drought just 19 seconds after the Penguins killed off a four-minute penalty that bridged the first two periods. The Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award finalist reeled in a stretch pass from defenseman Robert Bortuzzo before beating Henrik Lundqvist (13 saves) between the pads on a breakaway 2:34 into the second to open the scoring. The goal was Crosby's first since he scored versus Ottawa in Game 4 of last year's second-round series.

After serving a holding-the-stick penalty, Jokinen bolted from the box and settled the puck after Zuccarello's intended pass for Brad Richards skidded off the mark. The Finn breezed in before beating Lundqvist low to the blocker side with 4:40 remaining in the second to double the advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jokinen briefly pulled into a five-way tie with Colorado's Paul Stastny, Los Angeles' Marian Gaborik and Chicago teammates Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell for the league lead in goals. Gaborik secured the lead for himself with a goal later on Monday ... Crosby joined fellow Hart Trophy finalists Ryan Getzlaf of Anaheim and Claude Giroux of Philadelphia as candidates for the Ted Lindsay Award, which is presented annually to the league's most valuable player and is voted on by members of the NHL Players' Association. ... Lundqvist made his 76th career playoff appearance, tying Mike Richter for the franchise record for games played among goaltenders. ... New York went 0-for-5 on the power play and has failed on its last 34 opportunities. The Rangers are 3-for-42 overall in the postseason. ... New York Jets DE Muhammed Wilkerson was in attendance at Madison Square Garden.
