Oilers 4, Ducks 3 (OT): Captain Andrew Ference scored during 3-on-3 play at 3:51 of overtime as host Edmonton halted its three-game losing streak.

Sam Gagner registered his 100th NHL goal, defenseman Oscar Klefbom netted his first and Jordan Eberle also tallied for the Oilers, who improved to 2-3-0 on their six-game homestand. David Perron notched a pair of assists and Ben Scrivens turned aside 48 shots.

Patrick Maroon and Mathieu Perreault each recorded a goal and an assist while Nick Bonino also scored as the Ducks climbed within one point of first-place San Jose in the Pacific Division. Jonas Hiller finished with 19 saves for Anaheim, which is 1-0-1 on its three-game road trip.

The Ducks needed only 35 seconds to get on the board as Bonino converted a return pass from captain Ryan Getzlaf for his 19th goal. Gagner answered at 4:43 of the opening period, taking a feed from Perron during a 2-on-1 and beating Hiller from alone in front. Eberle tallied from the right faceoff circle on another odd-man rush midway through the second to put Edmonton ahead.

Maroon grabbed a rebound and the right post and buried it with 4:37 left in the session to forge a tie before Klefbom put a low shot from the top of the slot inside the right post at 8:26 of the third to give the Oilers a 3-2 edge. Maroon grabbed a loose puck behind the net and dished it to Perreault in front for the tying goal with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the period and Ference blasted a shot past Hiller from above the right circle with each team down a skater for the winner.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Perreault's goal was his career-high 17th of the season and fourth in five games. He extended his point streak to seven contests with an assist on Maroon's tally. ... Edmonton lost two players to injuries as C Tyler Pitlick (leg) remained in the locker room after the second intermission and LW Ryan Jones (undisclosed) exited early in the third period after crashing into the right post. ... The contest was the first of three meetings between the division rivals in a span of 10 days.
