Kings 3, Flyers 2: Dwight King snapped a tie midway through the third period as visiting Los Angeles posted its third straight victory.

Former Flyers Jeff Carter and Justin Williams also scored for the Kings, who have won six straight on the road. Jonathan Quick made 12 of his 30 saves in the third period as Los Angeles withstood a late flurry.

Matt Read and Jakub Voracek each scored his 20th goal of the season for Philadelphia, which had its five-game winning streak snapped. Ray Emery turned aside 38 shots as the Flyers fell a point behind the New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

After a scoreless first period, Carter got Los Angeles on the board at 1:49 of the second and Williams poked in a rebound on the doorstep with 2:32 left in the session for a 2-0 advantage. Philadelphia battled back in the third as defenseman Braydon Coburn's shot from the right point deflected off Read and past Quick 29 seconds into the period and Voracek tipped in Scott Hartnell's shot from the blue line at 8:18.

The Kings wasted little time regaining the lead as they took advantage of pinching Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen 2:18 later. Blue-liner Slava Voynov carried the puck down the right wing on a 2-on-1 rush and dished it to King, who beat Emery from the slot.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles captain Dustin Brown was in the lineup after leaving Saturday's win over Florida with an upper-body injury. ... Flyers C Vincent Lecavalier had a chance to forge a tie less than a minute after Carter's goal, but he shanked a one-timer from alone in front and the puck rang off the right post, hit the crossbar and caromed off the left post before bouncing back into the slot. ... Carter's goal ended his six-game drought.
