Rangers 8, Senators 4: Derick Brassard scored twice and added an assist as visiting New York erupted for a season high in goals to help Henrik Lundqvist register his franchise-best 302nd victory.

Rick Nash tallied twice and Derek Stepan and Benoit Pouliot joined defensemen John Moore and Ryan McDonagh with goals as the Rangers rebounded from being shut out against San Jose on Sunday. The offensive support was more than enough for Lundqvist, who finished with 35 saves and moved past Mike Richter with the milestone win.

Mika Zibanejad scored in back-to-back contests after going 14 games without a tally. Bobby Ryan netted his team-leading 23rd goal and Milan Michalek and Mike Hoffman also scored for the Senators, who have dropped four in a row (0-2-2) and eight of their last 10 (2-6-2).

Pouliot took advantage of Ottawa's inability to clear the puck and rifled a shot past Robin Lehner (five goals on 28 shots) to give New York a 3-2 lead with 4:12 remaining in the second period. Moore scored from along the left-wing boards with 1:16 left before McDonagh's blast from the point caromed off the stick of Senators defenseman Marc Methot and into the net exactly one minute later.

Michalek trimmed the deficit 1:27 into the third before Stepan answered 73 seconds later against Nathan Lawson (eight saves) to restore the three-goal bulge. Brassard, who had scored midway through the second to snap an eight-game drought without a point, tallied from the doorstep at 4:45 of the third to complete his three-point performance.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York RW Martin St. Louis set up Brassard's second goal to notch his third assist in eight games since being acquired from Tampa Bay at the trade deadline. ... Ottawa D Erik Karlsson had an assist on Zibanejad's power-play goal to extend his point streak to four games. ... Nash's short-handed goal in the first period was New York's fourth in nine contests. ... Lawson, who relieved Lehner to start the third, exited midway through the session with an undisclosed injury.
