Red Wings 7, Devils 4: Gustav Nyquist scored the go-ahead goal and notched three assists while Johan Franzen tallied twice to highlight his four-point performance as Detroit improved to 6-1-2 in its last nine home games.

David Legwand netted a goal and set up two others for his first points with the Red Wings, who won two of the three meetings with New Jersey. Brendan Smith scored in his 100th career contest, fellow defenseman Kyle Quincey and Drew Miller also tallied and Jonas Gustavsson turned aside 21 shots in the victory.

Adam Henrique scored twice for his sixth and seventh tallies during his five-game goal-scoring streak for the Devils. Patrik Elias netted a short-handed tally and Jaromir Jagr recorded his 701st career tally in the loss.

After Henrique tapped home his own deflection to give New Jersey a 3-2 lead, Franzen netted his second goal of the contest and sixth in four games with a one-timer from the slot to forge a tie 13:47 into the second period. Nyquist regained the advantage 78 seconds later as his shot trickled past Cory Schneider (26 saves) before Quincey beat the netminder under the crossbar from the slot under two minutes later.

With Detroit holding a 2-0 lead, New Jersey trimmed the deficit as Elias seized the puck off a turnover and unleashed a slap shot past Gustavsson. New Jersey knotted it up 57 seconds later as Jagr split the defense and wristed a shot from the slot past Gustavsson.
