Stars 4, Wild 0: Vernon Fiddler and Erik Cole scored 3:27 apart in the first period and Kari Lehtonen notched his 24th career shutout to spark Dallas to its 18th win in the last 19 home games versus Minnesota.

Ray Whitney scored on a power play, Jordie Benn converted a penalty shot and fellow defenseman Alex Goligoski notched two assists for the Stars, who avenged a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild on Saturday and won for only the second time in 11 games (2-8-1). Lehtonen faced only nine shots through two periods and finished with 18 saves for his second shutout of the season.

Rookie Darcy Kuemper, making his fifth consecutive start, turned aside 32 shots as Minnesota lost for only the third time in 10 games (7-3-0).

Dallas, which had scored only five goals in dropping its previous three contests (0-2-1), got off to a positive start when Goligoski's shot from the point deflected off Fiddler and past Kuemper at 13:18 of the first period. Cole doubled the lead with his third goal in five games, snapping a high shot from the left faceoff circle into the far corner of the net during a power play.

Whitney extended the advantage with 6:42 left in the middle session, accepting a feed from defenseman Sergei Gonchar at the left side of the net before deking Kuemper and sliding the puck under his outstretched stick. Benn was awarded the penalty shot when he came out of the penalty box and went around Kuemper, who threw his stick at the puck with 8:38 remaining in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Benn made a beautiful move to beat Kuemper, getting the rookie to sprawl out before beating him easily. It was the fourth time Dallas has converted on seven penalty-shot attempts this season. ... Wild F Zach Parise (foot) missed his 14th consecutive game but could return to the lineup for Thursday's contest against Chicago. ... Fiddler's goal was his first since Nov. 5.
