Bruins 5, Senators 0: Tuukka Rask turned aside 33 shots for his 20th career shutout as Boston extended its home winning streak to eight games.
Red-hot Reilly Smith scored twice - giving him five goals in his last three games - and Brad Marchand had a tally and an assist as the Bruins scored four times in the third period to run their home point streak to 15 games (13-0-2). Jarome Iginla scored on the power play and David Krejci added a goal to back Rask's fourth shutout of the season - and second in four contests.
Robin Lehner made 37 saves for Ottawa, which will get a chance to avenge the defeat when it hosts Boston on Saturday. The Senators lost for the fourth time in five games (1-3-1) and again failed to post back-to-back wins for the first time since Nov. 5-9.
Iginla broke the scoreless deadlock with 3:31 left in the second period, notching his third goal in two games while on the power play. Defenseman Torey Krug's blast from the point struck Milan Lucic in front and Iginla quickly corralled the loose puck and buried it before Lehner could set himself.
Krejci doubled the lead 38 seconds into the third just moments after he was denied from all alone in front, taking a carom off the end boards and connecting from a sharp angle at the right of the net. Smith score twice in the final 9:40, giving him a a team-high 14 goals and nine in his last 10 games, before Marchand capped the scoring with a short-handed tally at 19:33.
