Ducks 5, Islanders 3: Kyle Palmieri snapped a tie with 6:16 remaining and captain Ryan Getzlaf capped a four-goal third period - and his second career hat trick - with an empty-netter as visiting Anaheim rallied for its franchise-record eighth consecutive victory.

Mathieu Perreault also tallied while Getzlaf and Palmieri each added an assist for the Ducks, who also have captured five straight on the road and earned at least one point in 11 in a row overall (9-0-2). Corey Perry notched three assists and Frederik Andersen turned aside 18 shots.

Thomas Vanek scored twice and Frans Nielsen netted a goal for the Islanders, whose three-game point streak came to an end.

Getzlaf began Anaheim's comeback 70 seconds into the third period with his second goal of the night and Perreault beat Evgeni Nabokov (26 saves) from the doorstep midway through the session to forge a 3-3 tie. One night after scoring in overtime at New Jersey, Palmieri gained possession after a faceoff in the right circle and skated in front before burying his sixth of the season.

Vanek opened the scoring 11:27 into the contest, but Getzlaf pulled the Ducks even with a backhander from the bottom of the left circle that caromed off Nabokov and in with 4:50 left in the second. Vanek put New York back in front with a blast from the right circle at 17:55 and Nielsen scored his 12th goal just 57 seconds later to make it 3-1.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Ducks had won seven in a row twice in their history, most recently from Oct. 5-20. ... Anaheim is 5-0-1 in its last six road games. ... The Islanders were outshot 23-12 over the final two periods.
