Canadiens 3, Coyotes 1: Max Pacioretty had two goals and an assist - all in the third period - as host Montreal rallied to maintain its domination of Phoenix.

Carey Price turned aside 26 shots as the Canadiens won for the second time in five games and stayed unbeaten in their last 14 meetings (11 wins, three ties) against the Coyotes. Defenseman Andrei Markov sparked the comeback with a power-play goal early in the third period as Montreal matched its goal total from the previous four games.

Mikkel Boedker scored the lone goal for Phoenix, which hasn't beaten the Canadiens since Dec. 9, 1998. Mike Smith stopped 25 shots as Phoenix opened its four-game road trip with a loss.

Boedker put Phoenix on top just over six minutes into the opening period, moving down the left wing and snapping a shot on Price. The rebound squirted back toward Boedker but it hit off a Montreal player first and slid into the net.

The Canadiens pulled even on the power play at 2:26 of the third when Markov received a perfect carom off the side boards on a cross-ice pass from Pacioretty and blasted a slap shot that trickled between the pads of Smith. Pacioretty delivered the game-winner with 6:42 to play when he threw a puck at the net from the goal line that went in off Phoenix defenseman Michael Stone before he scored into an empty net at 19:57.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boedker, who turned 24 on Monday, has scored eight of his 10 goals away from home. ... Pacioretty's assist was only his fourth of the season, 20 fewer than he collected in 44 games last season. ... Coyotes D Zbynek Michalek suffered a lower-body injury in the first period and did not return.
