Canadiens 3, Sabres 2: Brandon Prust and Tomas Plekanec each recorded a goal and an assist as host Montreal extended its point streak to 10 games.

Alex Galchenyuk also scored and Travis Moen notched a pair of assists for the Canadiens, who have won five straight and improved to 9-0-1 during their run. Carey Price turned aside 23 shots.

Tyler Ennis had a goal and an assist while Zemgus Girgensons added a tally for Buffalo, which fell to 1-7-1 over its last nine contests. Jhonas Enroth finished with 16 saves.

Prust opened the scoring 19 seconds into the middle period, beating Enroth from the slot after a feed from Ryan White. Buffalo drew even on Ennis' one-time blast from the right faceoff circle at 8:35, but Plekanec beat Enroth low to the glove side from the low slot with 2:16 remaining and Galchenyuk converted a cross-slot pass by defenseman Andrei Markov 23 seconds later for a 3-1 advantage.

Girgensons pulled the Sabres within a goal at 4:04 of the third as he slipped the puck between the skates of P.K. Subban and went around the defenseman before sliding it past Price.
