Lightning 5, Rangers 0: Captain Martin St. Louis recorded two goals and an assist while Ben Bishop turned aside 37 shots for his second shutout of the season as host Tampa Bay snapped a four-game winless streak.

Teddy Purcell also had two goals and an assist, Nikita Kucherov scored on his first NHL shift and Valtteri Filppula set up a pair of tallies for the Lightning. Bishop highlighted his fifth career shutout by making 17 of his saves in the first period, and has stopped 78-of-79 shots the last two contests.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 18-of-22 shots in the first two periods for the Rangers, who saw their six-game road winning streak come to an end. Cam Talbot came on to make two saves in the third and New York went 0-for-6 on the power play - including 1:02 of 5-on-3 advantage in the second period.

Kucherov beat Lundqvist from the left faceoff circle after a nifty backhand feed from Purcell in the corner 2:12 into the game. St. Louis scored on a breakaway 58 seconds later, flipping a puck over Lundqvist’s left shoulder after defenseman Victor Hedman's long pass hit Filppula and went off blue-liner Marc Staal’s stick.

St. Louis, who came in with one goal in his last 12 games, accepted a pass from Filppula up the middle and beat Lundqvist on the breakaway 3:12 into the middle session. Purcell pushed the lead to 4-0 with 3:08 left in the second, moving down the right wing and whipping a shot past Lundqvist’s glove side.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis was honored in a ceremony before the game to commemorate his 1,000th NHL game on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
