Rangers 3, Stars 2: Henrik Lundqvist made a season-high 41 saves - including a career-best 23 in the first period - and Chris Kreider and defenseman John Moore scored 37 seconds apart early in the third as visiting New York edged Dallas.

Rick Nash netted his first goal of the season while playing in his second contest following a 17-game absence due to a concussion. Lundqvist added an assist as the Rangers won their fifth straight away from Madison Square Garden.

Defenseman Stephane Robidas scored a power-play goal and Alex Chiasson snapped an 11-game goalless drought. Cody Eakin notched a pair of assists and Kari Lehtonen finished with 24 saves for the Stars, who fell for the second time in eight games overall while dropping to 0-2-2 in their last four home contests.

Kreider snapped a nine-game goalless drought at 1:18 of the third period to give New York a 2-1 lead. After a turnover by Dallas captain Jamie Benn, the Rangers skated up the ice and Kreider wired a shot from above the right circle that beat Lehtonen into the left corner of the net. Moore extended the advantage in short order after his shot from the left circle beat Lehtonen.

The Stars caught Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto in the offensive zone, and Chiasson capped an odd-man rush to trim the deficit back to one at 8:27 of the third period. Nash was denied on a penalty shot moments later, but Dallas failed to capitalize on the momentum.

GAME NOTEBOOK: With New York on the power play, Lundqvist's stretch pass to the blue line found captain Ryan Callahan, who alertly fed Nash. The All-Star forward skated in and deked Lehtonen before snapping the puck into the net. Robidas answered 8:46 into the second as his shot from the left circle found its way into the net after a pair of deflections. ... Dallas C Tyler Seguin failed to find the scoresheet to see his four-game point streak come to an end. He had collected six goals and two assists in the stretch. ... The Rangers were awarded penalty shots in consecutive games for the first time in franchise history.
