Kings 2, Devils 0: Ben Scrivens made 26 saves for his fourth career shutout as visiting Los Angeles extended its point streak to four games.

Dwight King snapped a scoreless tie late in the third period for the Kings, who improved to 2-0-1 on their four-game road trip that concludes Sunday at the New York Rangers. Anze Kopitar added a power-play, empty-net goal to seal the win.

Scrivens turned aside 12 shots in the first period, six in the second and eight in the third en route to his second blanking of the season. He made his second straight start in place of the injured Jonathan Quick, who is sidelined with a groin strain.

Cory Schneider stopped 19 shots for New Jersey, which saw its four-game point streak come to an end. The Devils fell to 3-2-2 at home.

King was alone in front of Schneider and tipped in a point shot by defenseman Jake Muzzin with 6:52 remaining in the third. New Jersey's Damien Brunner was called for tripping in the final minute of the session, eliminating any chance of a comeback.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Scrivens stopped 20 shots at Florida on Oct. 13 to earn a shutout in his first start for the Kings. … The last time these two teams faced each other was Game 6 of the 2012 Stanley Cup final, which Los Angeles won 6-1 to capture the championship. … Brunner was kept off the scoresheet for the eighth consecutive game.
