Devils 3, Rangers 2: Dainius Zubrus scored to snap a tie with 2:55 remaining in the third period as visiting New Jersey defeated New York for the second time this season.

Ryan Carter scored his first two goals of the campaign and defenseman Adam Larsson notched an assist on his 21st birthday for the Devils, who began a 6-3-2 stretch with a 4-0 victory over New York on Oct. 19. Martin Brodeur finished with 33 saves.

Marc Staal scored for the first time since the season opener to secure his 100th career point and fellow defenseman Dan Girardi tallied to forge a 2-2 tie with 6:42 remaining in the third period. Mats Zuccarello notched an assist to extend his point streak to a career-high four contests and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 25 shots for the Rangers, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

With the contest tied at 2-2, Zubrus' initial shot from the slot was blocked by Girardi as he went down to a knee. However, the puck caromed off the skate of defenseman Ryan McDonagh and back to Zubrus, who slapped it past Lundqvist for his third goal.

New Jersey seized a a 2-1 lead as Larsson's clearing bid skidded along the right-wing boards before Carter settled the puck and backhanded a shot from the lower circle that slipped past Lundqvist. Carter's two-goal game was the third of his career - and first since April 11, 2010. The slim advantage held up until Girardi's wrist shot from just inside the blue line deflected off the skate of Larsson and into the net.
