Rangers 4, Blue Jackets 2: Carl Hagelin recorded his second two-goal performance of the season and captain Ryan Callahan collected his fifth tally in as many games as visiting New York posted its fifth win in six contests.

Defenseman Ryan McDonagh sealed the game with an empty-net goal and rookie Cam Talbot turned aside 32 shots for the Rangers, who have yielded two goals or fewer in nine consecutive contests.

Former Ranger Fedor Tyutin and fellow defenseman Ryan Murray scored while Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 30 saves for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped five in a row.

With the game tied at 1-1 and New York on a power play, Callahan stationed himself in front of Bobrovsky before deftly using the heel of his stick to deflect McDonagh's shot from the point. The tally was Callahan's team-leading third with the man advantage.

After opening the scoring by completing a pretty passing play with Callahan and Brad Richards, Hagelin was credited with his second goal at 12:44 of the second period - although the puck inadvertently was put into the net by Columbus' Mark Letestu. Murray answered 48 seconds later with a blast from the top of the left faceoff circle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Both clubs had four players that used to compete for the other - and former Columbus coach Scott Arniel is in his first season as New York associate head coach. Rangers LW Rick Nash, who used to serve as the Blue Jackets' captain, has not played since suffering a concussion on Oct. 8. ... Hagelin has four goals and two assists during his four-game point streak. ... Bobrovsky fell to 0-4-1 in his last five meetings with the Rangers and 2-7-0 in his last nine starts overall.
