Rangers 5, Penguins 1: Brian Boyle collected a goal and an assist and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 28 shots as host New York posted just its second win in 10 outings versus Pittsburgh.

Captain Ryan Callahan scored his fourth goal in as many games and defenseman Ryan McDonagh and Derek Stepan tallied 1:05 apart late in the first period. Derick Brassard capped the scoring and Brad Richards notched a pair of assists as the Rangers seized their fourth victory in five contests.

Defenseman Kris Letang netted a power-play goal and Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 20 saves for the Penguins, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

New York drew first blood with 1:52 remaining in the first period after Boyle extended his body to chip the puck to McDonagh, whose wrist shot from the left circle beat Fleury. Stepan doubled the advantage shortly thereafter as he settled Mats Zuccarello's lead pass from just inside the blue line before beating Fleury from the right circle for his fourth goal in three contests.

Boyle netted his first of the season with 6:50 remaining in the second after his wrist shot from the slot beat Fleury to the short side. Letang trimmed the deficit 1:24 later by poking home a loose puck on the doorstep, but Carl Hagelin's shot was deflected twice - the latter coming off the stick of Callahan - as New York regained its three-goal advantage just 64 seconds later.
