Avalanche 3, Jets 2: Paul Stastny scored the tiebreaking goal off a feed from captain Gabriel Landeskog with 5:28 remaining in the third period as host Colorado rallied to edge Winnipeg for its fourth straight victory.

Matt Duchene scored his eighth goal in as many games and defenseman Jan Hejda tied it at 7:13 of the third for the Avalanche, who have won 10 of their first 11 contests. Landeskog registered two assists and Stastny added one while Semyon Varlamov turned aside 23 shots for his seventh victory.

Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler each recorded a goal and an assist for the Jets, who dropped to 2-2-1 on the road. Al Montoya made 33 saves in his second start for Winnipeg after posting a shutout in his season debut.

Duchene tracked down the rebound of Steve Downie’s shot at the left faceoff circle and wristed a low shot past Montoya 8:04 into the contest. The Jets tied it less than three minutes later as Little scored from the right circle after defenseman Adam Pardy’s shot off the end boards from the left point caromed directly to him.

The Jets took the lead just after their power play ended at 10:02 of the middle period, when Wheeler hammered a shot from the right point that squirted past Varlamov. Stastny’s centering pass deflected to Hejda at the top of the left circle, and the defenseman drilled a shot past Montoya to tie it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Jets failed on all five tries on the power play and are 0-for-25 with the man advantage over the last eight games. … The Jets announced D Paul Postma will be out indefinitely with a blood clot in his leg. Postma played in eight of Winnipeg’s first 12 games. … Colorado LW Cody McLeod served the fourth contest of a five-game suspension for his hit from behind on Detroit D Niklas Kronwall on Oct. 17.
