Penguins 7, Senators 3: James Neal and Jarome Iginla scored two goals apiece and Norris Trophy finalist Kris Letang notched four assists as visiting Pittsburgh erupted to push seventh-seeded Ottawa to the brink of elimination in their Eastern Conference second-round series.

Pascal Dupuis and captain Sidney Crosby netted their respective seventh goals of the playoffs while Neal added an assist. Chris Kunitz also scored and Tomas Vokoun turned aside 30 shots to improve to 5-1 for the top-seeded Penguins, who will look to close out the series at home in Game 5 on Friday.

Captain Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist to reach the 100-point plateau of his postseason career. Kyle Turris netted his team-leading fifth tally and Milan Michalek added the Senators' second short-handed goal in as many contests.

Kunitz reeled in a stretch pass at the blue line before skating in and beating Craig Anderson (32 saves) between the pads to forge a 2-2 tie 68 seconds into the middle session. The Penguins secured their first lead 40 seconds later as Letang's shot from the right faceoff circle handcuffed Anderson, allowing Iginla to tap home the loose puck.

Pittsburgh seized a 4-2 lead nearly two minutes into the third as Crosby's shot hit the outside of the post and caromed off the end boards to Neal, who deposited the puck into the open net for a power-play goal. Dupuis and Crosby scored 31 seconds apart to chase Anderson before Iginla greeted Robin Lehner (three saves) with his second tally midway through the session.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Crosby was denied in his bid to knot the contest at 1-1 by the left skate of Ottawa D Chris Phillips on a power-play opportunity in the first period. Alone along the bottom of the right circle, Crosby failed to elevate the puck over a sliding Phillips with Anderson out of position. ... With 13 points, Letang (two goals, 11 assists) moved ahead of idle Boston captain Zdeno Chara (10 points) for the league lead among defensemen. ... Penguins LW Jussi Jokinen and rookie RW Beau Bennett made their first appearances in this series. Jokinen was playing for the first time since Game 4 of the first round, while Bennett saw his first action since Game 3. LW Brenden Morrow did not play on Wednesday, one day after his early exit from practice.
