Penguins 3, Bruins 2: Jussi Jokinen collected a goal and two assists as visiting Pittsburgh clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference in a game that was rescheduled on Friday after authorities conducted a manhunt for one of the suspects involved in the Boston Marathon bombing.
Jarome Iginla and defenseman Kris Letang scored power-play goals in the third period and Tomas Vokoun turned aside 38 shots for the Penguins, who have won six in a row overall and six straight against Boston. Pittsburgh resides five points behind Chicago in the race for the Presidents' Trophy after the Blackhawks suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to Phoenix on Saturday.
Brad Marchand scored his team-leading 17th goal and Tyler Seguin tallied with 2.6 seconds remaining in the third period for his fourth goal in five outings. Tuukka Rask finished with 21 saves for the Bruins, who fell to 0-3-1 in their last four contests to remain two points behind Northeast Division-leading Montreal. The Canadiens dropped a 5-1 decision to Washington on Saturday night.
Booed every time he touched the puck following his move to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline, Iginla's blast from the point sailed past a screened Rask to give the Penguins a 2-1 lead at 4:43 of the third period. Letang provided insurance nearly four minutes later after skating in and wiring a shot from just inside the top of the left circle.
Marchand opened the scoring midway through the first period after gaining inside position on Letang before wristing a shot that trickled past Vokoun. Jokinen scored his fourth goal in six games with Pittsburgh after beating Rask to a loose puck before backhanding the puck into the net at 5:10 of the second.
