Penguins 6, Lightning 3: Jussi Jokinen recorded two goals and an assist while Pascal Dupuis scored a goal and set up two others as visiting Pittsburgh pulled away from Tampa Bay

Chris Kunitz and Evgeni Malkin also tallied and Tanner Glass added his first for the Penguins, who lead Montreal by five points in the race for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Jarome Iginla chipped in with two assists and Tomas Vokoun made 16 saves for his 11th victory.

Teddy Purcell scored two power-play goals and Brett Connolly added a third for Tampa Bay, which remained eight points behind the eighth-place New York Rangers in the East. Ben Bishop turned aside 35 shots while making his fifth consecutive start for the Lightning after being acquired from Ottawa.

Brenden Morrow’s shot was stopped by Bishop before the puck caromed in off Jokinen’s skate 4:07 into the game, and Dupuis flipped in a rebound during a power play 1:55 later for a 2-0 lead. Purcell redirected Steven Stamkos' centering pass with four minutes left in the first period to pull the Lightning within a goal.

Kunitz deflected Iginla’s blast from the top of the left faceoff circle during a man advantage to push Pittsburgh’s lead to 3-1 at 1:48 of the second session. After Connolly’s power-play goal trimmed the deficit, Malkin jumped on a turnover and beat Bishop to the short side 1:24 into the third for a 4-2 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pittsburgh D Kris Letang returned to the lineup after missing six games with a toe injury and contributed an assist for his 200th career point. … Connolly’s goal was his first in 55 games and Glass scored for the first time in 56 contests. … Pittsburgh scored three power-play goals for the second time this season. The Penguins also accomplished the feat against Washington on Feb. 7.
