Senators 3, Islanders 1: Defenseman Andre Benoit and Dave Dziurzynski each scored his first career goal as Ottawa kicked off a four-game homestand by holding off New York.

Craig Anderson turned aside 37 shots and Colin Greening opened the scoring with a power-play goal as the Senators improved to 6-1-2 at home.

Defenseman Travis Hamonic scored the lone goal for the Islanders, who were coming off a 7-0 drubbing by Philadelphia and lost for the seventh time in their last nine games.

Greening and Benoit scored just over 2 1/2 minutes apart in the second period to give Ottawa a 2-0 lead. Greening tallied just 24 seconds into a power play at 6:01 before Benoit registered his first NHL goal with a one-timer through a screen from the blue line.

Hamonic got New York within a goal when he scored at 2:44 of the third, but Anderson withstood heavy pressure by the Islanders before Dziurzynski provided an insurance tally by beating Rick DiPietro (23 saves) with 2:35 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Greening's goal was Ottawa's first with the man advantage since Feb. 5, snapping an 0-for-24 drought. ... DiPietro, making his third start of the season, fell to 4-7-0 lifetime against the Senators. ... Tuesday marked the two-year anniversary of Anderson's debut with Ottawa, a 1-0 shutout of Toronto.
