Defenseman Radek Martinek, P.A. Parenteau and Matt Moulson each recorded a goal and an assist as the New York Islanders snapped a three-game losing streak Thursday with a 6-2 home victory over the offensively challenged New York Rangers.

Blake Comeau, Jesse Joensuu and Trevor Gillies also scored, blue-liner Dylan Reese collected three assists and Al Montoya made 25 saves for the Islanders, who had dropped four straight meetings with the Rangers.

Vinny Prospal and Brandon Prust tallied while All-Star Henrik Lundqvist allowed four goals on 22 shots over two periods in his 22nd consecutive start for the Rangers, who have just five tallies in their last five games.

The Rangers (41-32-5) went 0-for-8 on the power play and fell to 1-2 on their season-high four-game road trip, wasting the chance to move past idle Buffalo (39-29-9) for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Prospal gave the Rangers the lead in the first period, but Comeau and Martinek scored 33 seconds apart early in the second to put the Islanders ahead for good. Joensuu and Parenteau tallied later in the session, and Moulson and Gillies added third-period goals to complete the rout.

Islanders forward Frans Nielsen left the game late in the first period with a head injury after being rammed face-first into the boards by Marian Gaborik and did not return.
