Dustin Jeffrey scored in the seventh round of the shootout to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-3 victory over the host New York Rangers on Tuesday night.

Jeffrey also had a goal in regulation to spark a comeback as the Penguins continued their mastery of the Rangers in New York, winning for the fifth consecutive time at Madison Square Garden.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped the Rangers' final chance by making a pad save on Marian Gaborik, who is now 2-for-19 for his career in shootouts.

Fleury made 26 saves to extend his winning streak to six games for the undermanned Penguins, who were without All-Star centers Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin as well as center Mark Letestu.

But the Rangers were unable to take advantage despite getting reinforcements with the return to the lineup of leading scorer Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi.

Goals by Brandon Prust and Artem Anisimov had the Rangers on top 2-0 at the 1:41 mark of the second period but the Penguins responded with three straight goals.

Jeffrey's power-play tally got Pittsburgh on the board before Michael Rupp and Chris Kunitz connected in a span of 3:36 to give the Penguins the lead.

The momentum stalled when Jordan Staal earned a match penalty for throwing a gloved punch at Prust, giving New York a five-minute power play.

Callahan, who had been sidelined since Dec. 15 with a broken hand, finally converted with 13 seconds left in the period to tie it at 3-3.
