Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves for his second shutout of the season and Craig Adams scored the game's only goal in the third period to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 1-0 victory over the visiting New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

Adams buried his third goal of the season and first since Dec. 28 from Dustin Jeffrey and Arron Asham at 8:35 of the third period to snap the scoreless tie.

Fleury made 12 saves in the first period and followed that up with seven in the second and eight more in the third as New York pressed to tie the game. Fleury, who now has 18 career shutouts, has allowed two or fewer goals in 22 of his last 30 games.

Islanders rookie Kevin Poulin was strong between the pipes in making 30 saves but dropped to 2-2-1 on the season.
