Dwayne Roloson made 38 saves and the New York Islanders continued their recent hot stretch with a 4-1 win over visiting Montreal Canadiens Sunday night.
New York has won four of its past five games. Earlier in the season the Islanders lost 14 straight.
Blake Comeau gave the Islanders (9-18-6) the lead for good midway through the first period with his eighth goal of the season. Michael Grabner netted his eighth in the second period to make it 2-0.
New York put the game away with a pair of goals early in the third period. P.A. Parenteau and James Wisniewski both scored power-play goals on a major penalty to Max Pacioretty to extend the lead to 4-0.
Montreal (20-14-2) snapped the shutout on Tomas Plekanec’s 11th goal of the season at 7:51 of the third period.
Roloson got the start for Rick DiPietro, who missed the game with a knee injury.
Carey Price made 21 saves for Montreal.
The game was played as a blizzard howled outside. The Islanders announced that anyone holding tickets for the game could exchange for another game later in the season.
