Josh Bailey scored two goals and set up another as the New York Islanders halted their 12-game road losing streak and spoiled Jacques Lemaire's return behind the New Jersey Devils' bench with a 5-1 victory on Thursday.

Blake Comeau notched a tally and an assist, John Tavares and Frans Nielsen also scored while Dwayne Roloson made 34 saves for the Islanders, who also ended a six-game slide at New Jersey.

Bailey opened the scoring at 3:09 of the first period and added a power-play goal 2 1/2 minutes later for a 2-0 bulge. Tavares increased the advantage at the 11-minute mark with his 10th of the season.

Nielsen netted a shorthanded goal midway through the second and Comeau capped the scoring early in the third for New York, which has won three of its last four.

Travis Zajac scored and Martin Brodeur stopped nine shots for the Devils, who welcomed Lemaire back for his third stint as the team's coach after firing John MacLean earlier in the day. New Jersey, which has lost four in a row and nine of its last 10, is last in the National Hockey League with 20 points.
