The New York Islanders scored three goals in a 1:39 span of the first period, and hung on to defeat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 Thursday night to snap a six-game losing streak.

P.A. Parenteau, Blake Comeau and Matt Moulson gave the Islanders a quick three-goal bulge as the Islanders chased Anaheim goaltender Curtis McIlhenney.

Joffrey Lupul and Jason Blake had a goal and an assist each for the Ducks (17-14-4), who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Rick DiPietro made 30 saves for the Islanders (6-18-5), who are second-to-last in the NHL in goals per game with 2.14.

Parenteau (power play) and Comeau scored from the slot 28 seconds apart on passes from behind the net by John Tavares and Rob Schremp, respectively. Moulson’s team-leading 11th goal 1:11 later came off a steal and feed by Parenteau.

Lupul’s second goal in two games came on the power play at 10:35 of the second period, while Blake scored at 1:30 of the third period.

The Islanders held the Ducks’ big line of Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan off the scoresheet as Getzlaf had his four-game point streak snapped.

The Ducks’ Jonas Hiller stopped all 17 shots he faced in relief and has now played in 14 straight games.
