Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien scored 90 seconds into overtime as the visiting Atlanta Thrashers handed the New York Islanders their 13th straight loss with a 2-1 triumph on Sunday.

Nik Antropov also netted his sixth goal of the season and second in as many days with a power-play tally as Atlanta (9-9-3) skated to its second straight win.

Andrew Ladd notched two assists and Byfuglien also set up Antropov's power-play goal at 2:25 of the third period for the Thrashers.

Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 28 shots to improve to 3-4-2 on the season. The 23-year-old Czech has won two in a row after dropping three straight contests.

Michael Grabner scored with 13 seconds remaining in the second period for New York (4-12-4), which fell to 0-11-2 during its skid. The Islanders have scored just 12 goals in their last 11 games.

Rick DiPietro returned after an extended absence to stop 33 shots on Sunday. Dwayne Roloson had started the team's previous seven games in place of DiPietro, who is now 2-3-3 on the season.
