Marian Gaborik scored his first three goals of the season and added an assist, while Alexander Frolov had two goals and to assists to lead the New York Rangers to an 8-2 blowout of the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Sunday afternoon.
Erik Christensen added three assists and Brian Boyle, Artem Anisimov and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored for the Rangers, who handed the Oilers their sixth loss in seven games.
Edmonton took a 2-1 lead after Gaborik opened the scoring in the first when Ryan Jones and Shawn Horcoff scored 28 seconds apart early in the second period.
The Rangers rallied with two goals in 25 seconds when Gaborik beat Nikolai Khabibulin with a breakaway deke for his second and Boyle converted on a 2-on-1 with Fedotenko.
Anisimov made it 4-2 and Frolov added another with five seconds left in the second period. Gaborik completed the hat trick with another breakaway goal and Frolov and Fedotenko also scored in a fight-filled third period.
Martin Biron filled in for Henrik Lundqvist, who is out with the flu, by making 19 saves to improve to 3-2-0 on the season.
Khabibulin made 23 saves, dropping to 4-9-1.
