Andreas Nodl snapped a tie with just over 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the third period as the visiting Philadelphia Flyers skated to their sixth consecutive victory with a 2-1 triumph over the New York Islanders on Saturday in a battle of Atlantic Division rivals.

Captain Mike Richards scored and added an assist to extend his consecutive points streak to six games for division-leading Philadelphia (9-4-1), which has won 20 of its last 22 contests against New York (4-8-2).

Rookie Sergei Bobrovsky posted his sixth straight victory by turning aside 31 shots in this one. The 22-year-old Russian netminder is now one win shy of Pelle Lindbergh's string of seven straight during his rookie campaign in 1982-83.

A free-agent acquisition, Bobrovsky improved to 8-2-0 this season.

With the game tied at 1-1, Nodl cleaned up a rebound off Eric Wellwood's shot for his third goal of the season. Nodl's tally came with 5:25 remaining in regulation.

Richards opened the scoring with 68 seconds remaining in the first period after deflecting veteran defenseman Chris Pronger's shot from the point.

With his team on the power play, Matt Moulson leveled the contest at 7:31 of the second period. For Moulson, it was his second goal in as many games and team-leading sixth tally of the season.

Veteran Dwayne Roloson turned aside 24 shots for New York, which dropped its seventh in a row.
