Radek Dvorak’s third-period goal lifted the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 victory over the visiting New York Islanders Saturday night.
Dvorak flipped a wrist shot past Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro for his third goal of the year at the 13:28 mark to lift the Panthers to 3-3-0 on the season.
John Tavares scored all three goals for the Islanders. Tavares tallied a power play in the first period to tie the score at 1-1.
The Panthers got goals from Mike Weaver and Steve Bernier in the first period to take a 2-1 lead.
After Tavares tied the score at 2-2 on another power play goal, David Booth netted his third goal of the year to give Florida a short-lived 3-2 lead. Tavares, who missed three games this season with a concussion, then scored his fifth goal in five games late in the second period to knot the score again.
Tomas Vokoun got the win in net making 29 saves. DiPietro made 26 saves in the loss.
