CHICAGO -- Patrick Kane won't allow himself to become consumed by the kind of point-producing streaks he currently finds himself in, knowing if he does, it could work to his disadvantage.

The Chicago Blackhawks, on the other hand, can only hope their star right winger, keeps up his torrid scoring pace.

Kane scored a goal and added an assist and the Blackhawks used a second-period offensive barrage to beat the Calgary Flames 4-1 on Sunday.

Kane's goal extended his goal-scoring streak to seven while extending his string of games with at least one point to 13 games as Chicago won for the third time in its last four games. Kane, the league leader in points, registered his eighth multi-point game of the season.

"I just show up and try and do the job," Kane said. "When you're playing with this caliber of players, you find yourself with good opportunities to get good chances and make plays."

Kane has certainly taken advantage.

"He's been unbelievable," Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith said. "That whole line -- they complement each other well. ... It's a full-line effort and Kaner is leading the way for sure."

Trailing 1-0, the Blackhawks responded with three goals in a span of 1 minute, 55 seconds to build a 3-1 lead.

Kane's goal tied the game, finishing in front of the net with a shot that got past Flames goaltender Karri Ramo, who made 37 saves in the loss.

Right winger Marian Hossa followed up less than a minute later and scored his first goal since Oct. 17, to provide the Blackhawks with their first lead. Left winger Artemi Panarin capped the scoring flurry with a goal at the 8:32 mark of the period to give the Blackhawks the two-goal advantage.

Kane, who leads the NHL in points, had an assist on the goal that helped shift the momentum over to Chicago for good.

"They caught us in a few good plays on their side and a few tough decisions on ours," Calgary coach Bob Hartley said. "Here's a team that as soon as they get a good chance, you know they'll capitalize on them and that's exactly what happened."

Calgary built a 1-0 lead just less than four minutes into the second period when right winger David Jones pushed a shot under Darling, who finished with 25 saves after Corey Crawford made 29 saves in the Blackhawks' 4-2 win over St. Louis on Saturday night.

Jones' goal came after the Flames showed little offensive spark in the first period, when they were outshot 10-4 by Chicago. But after taking the lead, Calgary couldn't build on the goal and couldn't respond after the Blackhawks quick trio of goals in just under two minutes.

"They got some momentum there and obviously scored those three quick goals," Ramo said. "I think we were guilty of not being aggressive enough tonight -- especially in the (defensive) zone. We gave them a little bit too much time and space."

Chicago protected a two-goal lead throughout the third period although Calgary nearly trimmed the deficit when center Matt Stajan hit the crossbar and then the post with 3:57 remaining to keep the deficit at two goals.

Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews capped the scoring with an empty-net goal with 38 seconds remaining to give Chicago plenty of momentum heading into their upcoming six-game road trip.

"That was probably our best two games back-to-back and the consistency that we always look for was right there," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "I thought it's more of a four-line rotation going where we had some predictably, timely goals, some nice plays. I thought across the board everybody contributed."
