Stars 4, Flames 3 (SO): Tyler Seguin beat Karri Ramo to the glove side with a wrist shot in the first round for the lone goal of the shootout as visiting Dallas extended its winning streak to four games.

Ales Hemsky scored twice in regulation and captain Jamie Benn added a power-play goal for the Stars, who have won nine of their last 11 contests. Seguin recorded two assists and Kari Lehtonen made 31 saves as Dallas climbed within six points of Winnipeg for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with eight games remaining.

Defenseman Deryk Engelland registered his first career two-goal performance and rookie Johnny Gaudreau also tallied for the Flames, who moved one point ahead of Los Angeles for third place in the Pacific Division. Ramo turned aside 27 shots as Calgary completed a 2-1-2 homestand.

After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for five goals in the second, with Hemsky beginning the barrage by using Calgary defenseman Kris Russell as a screen to beat Ramo to the stick side from the top of the slot 47 seconds into the session. Jason Spezza toe-dragged the puck around a sliding Russell in the right faceoff circle before feeding Benn for a tap-in from the doorstep 10 minutes later for a 2-0 lead before Gaudreau buried a return cross-slot pass from the left circle by Sean Monahan less than two minutes afterward.

The Flames drew even 65 seconds later as Engelland beat Lehtonen from the top of the right circle to end his 77-game drought. Hemsky took a lead pass from Shawn Horcoff and slid the puck around Ramo from alone in front with 16 seconds left in the period to give Dallas a 3-2 edge, but Engelland forged another tie at 11:19 of the third with a shot through a crowd from the right point.
