Stars 4, Blackhawks 0: Kari Lehtonen turned aside 33 shots to record his 32nd career shutout while halting a seven-game home skid against Chicago to keep alive host Dallas' slim playoff hopes.

Patrick Eaves and Jason Spezza recorded a goal and an assist apiece while Tyler Seguin and Shawn Horcoff each added a power-play tally as the Stars won for the seventh time in nine games to remain eight points behind Winnipeg for the second wild card in the Western Conference. Defenseman Alex Goligoski notched two assists to back the fifth shutout of the season for Lehtonen, who ended an 0-4-3 drought at home versus the Blackhawks.

Corey Crawford make 25 saves for Chicago, which had its four-game winning streak snapped and squandered a chance to move within two points of Central Division leaders St. Louis and Nashville. The Blackhawks failed on both of their power-play chances as their seven-game point streak (6-0-1) came to an end.

Eaves opened the scoring 9 1/2 minutes into the contest, accepting a crossing pass from Goligoski before lifting a shot over the right shoulder of Crawford. Seguin doubled the lead nearly 6 1/2 minutes later, when he pounced on a long rebound and slid it between the legs of Chicago defenseman Brent Seabrook and into the net.

Horcoff redirected a shot by Goligoski six minutes into the third period and Lehtonen kept the shutout intact by denying Brandon Saad on a penalty shot 71 seconds later. Spezza added an insurance tally with 10:28 to play after Eaves stripped Blackhawks blue-liner Michal Rozsival of the puck.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lehtonen has stopped 11-of-14 penalty shots in his career. ... Blackhawks D Kimmo Timonen appeared in his 1,100th career game, but Chicago's Joel Quenneville remained one victory shy of becoming the third coach to win 750 games. ... Spezza's goal was the 267th of his career but first against the Blackhawks.
