Sharks 7, Bruins 4: Joe Pavelski scored two goals and set up another while Tommy Wingels and Tyler Kennedy also tallied twice as host San Jose recorded its season high-tying third straight victory.

Patrick Marleau, James Sheppard and defensemen Matt Irwin and Brent Burns each registered a pair of assists for the Sharks, who completed a 3-1-2 homestand. Antti Niemi turned aside 20 shots in his sixth consecutive start.

Reilly Smith scored two goals while blue-liner Torey Krug and Gregory Campbell added one apiece for the Bruins, who have lost the first three contests of their four-game road trip. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each notched two assists and Tuukka Rask made 37 saves as Boston lost for the fifth time in six games - both on the road and overall.

Boston built a 2-0 lead just over 2 1/2 minutes into the contest as Smith converted a pass from Bergeron at the 29-second mark and Campbell beat Niemi from the left faceoff circle at 2:35. Wingels kicked off a six-goal second period 27 seconds into the session by redirecting defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic's left-point shot past Rask and Kennedy unleashed a backhander from the outer edge of the right circle that deflected off Bruins blue-liner Dougie Hamilton's stick and in 2:33 later.

Wingels gave the Sharks their first lead on a deflection during a power play at 7:30, but Smith answered from the doorstep 43 seconds later. Krug and Pavelski traded goals later in the period before Kennedy tipped Irwin's shot from above the left circle past Rask at 3:02 of the third for a 5-4 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pavelski capped his third two-goal performance of the season at 11:13 of the third, when his pass attempt from the doorstep caromed in off a defender. Hertl completed the scoring by tucking a backhander inside the left post with 4:16 remaining after Pavelski's one-timer from the blue line went wide. ... Sharks C Joe Thornton's assist on Hertl's goal was his 1,216th career point, tying him with Jeremy Roenick and Larry Murphy for 40th place on the all-time list. ... The two-goal effort by Kennedy, who missed two games with a lower-body injury, was the seventh of his career while Wingels' was his second this season. The latter has collected three tallies and four assists over his last three games.
