Penguins 3, Kings 0: Chris Kunitz scored two goals and assisted on another while Marc-Andre Fleury notched his second shutout in six days to lift host Pittsburgh.

Fleury turned aside 36 shots to register his 30th career shutout as the Penguins halted Los Angeles' eight-game point streak. Defenseman Kris Letang added his first goal of the season to help Pittsburgh to its third straight victory.

Martin Jones made 20 saves in his second start of the season for the Kings, who failed to earn a point for the first time since they were blanked by San Jose in the season opener. It marked the first time the Penguins shut out Los Angeles since 1974.

Pittsburgh's vaunted power play, which entered with a league-best success rate of 40.6 percent, converted on a 5-on-3 just before the midway point of the opening period. Evgeni Malkin faked a shot from the left point and sent a pass ahead to Kunitz, who steered it into an open net at 9:16.

Letang doubled the lead during a man advantage six minutes later, when his pass attempt from the right faceoff circle caromed off the skate of Kings forward Dwight King and past Jones. It remained 2-0 until midway through the third as captain Sidney Crosby skated out from the right-wing boards and had his stuff attempt denied, but Kunitz buried the bad-angle rebound with 10:36 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Malkin extended his season-opening point streak to nine games with his 400th career assist on Kunitz's first tally. ... With Kings C Anze Kopitar sitting out his second straight game, Los Angeles recalled F David Van der Gulik from Manchester of the American Hockey League. ... Pittsburgh has killed off 22 straight power plays over the last six games after Los Angeles failed on four chances.
