Lightning 2, Flames 1 (OT): Ondrej Palat scored exactly three minutes into overtime as visiting Tampa Bay rallied to edge Calgary.

Valtteri Filppula netted the tying goal late in the third period for the Lightning, who improved to 2-1-0 on their five-game road trip. Jonathan Drouin notched an assist for his first point in his second NHL game and Evgeni Nabokov turned aside 21 shots.

Karri Ramo came within 2:16 of his third career shutout as Filppula tapped in the rebound of defenseman Jason Garrison's one-timer from the right point to knot the contest. Less than two minutes after Ramo made a brilliant blocker save on Drouin during a 2-on-none rush, Palat gathered the rebound of blue-liner Anton Stralman's blast and backhanded it past the netminder for the winner.

Defenseman Dennis Wideman scored a power-play goal for the Flames, who were beginning a five-game homestand. Ramo finished with 20 saves as Calgary fell to 0-2-0 at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary outshot Tampa Bay 15-12 over two scoreless periods before cashing in on a power-play opportunity 72 seconds into the third. Johnny Gaudreau carried the puck down the middle of the ice and weaved through four defenders before drifting to his left and making a cross-slot pass to Wideman, who fired the puck past Nabokov from the right side of the net.

GAME NOTEBOOK: With Tampa Bay RW Ryan Callahan and C Alex Killorn sidelined with lower-body injuries, RW Mike Blunden made his Lightning debut after being recalled from Syracuse of the American Hockey League earlier in the day. He saw just over 10 minutes of ice time. ... Calgary D TJ Brodie had his career-high six-game point streak snapped. ... The Flames were home for the first time since a season-opening loss to Vancouver on Oct. 8.
