Rangers 4, Devils 3 (OT): Defenseman Kevin Klein scored 2:42 into overtime as visiting New York overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to skate to its third straight victory.

In overtime, Chris Kreider entered the offensive zone and promptly cut across the slot before his drop pass found Klein. The blue-liner glided in and wristed a shot past Cory Schneider (21 saves) and just inside the left post to end the contest.

Rick Nash scored his league-leading eighth goal and Kreider and Chris Mueller each had a power-play tally and an assist for the Rangers. Captain Ryan McDonagh set up a pair of goals for his first points of the season and Henrik Lundqvist finished with 28 saves.

Jaromir Jagr recorded his 706th career goal in the first period before setting up Adam Henrique's power-play tally in the second for the Devils, who have dropped three straight after opening the season with three victories. Defenseman Jon Merrill also tallied with the man advantage and Damien Brunner notched two assists in the setback.

Playing in his 200th career game, Henrique one-timed a shot from near the left faceoff dot to give New Jersey a 2-1 lead with 5:05 left in the second before Merrill's wrist shot from the right circle doubled the advantage just 36 seconds into the third. Mueller trimmed the deficit 8 1/2 minutes later after one-timing a circle-to-circle pass from Derick Brassard before Nash backhanded a rebound past Schneider to forge a 3-3 tie with 5 1/2 minutes to play in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After failing on its first 17 power-play opportunities this season, New York drew first blood as Kreider shoveled home the rebound of McDonagh's blast from above the circles at 7:34 of the first period. Jagr answered over six minutes later by cleaning up a rebound after Brunner's shot caromed off the end boards to move within two goals of matching Mike Gartner (708) for sixth place all-time in NHL history. ... New Jersey LW Mike Cammalleri saw his five-game point streak come to an end. He had collected five goals and two assists during that stretch. ... Devils D Adam Larsson, who made his season debut, registered two shots in 12:30 of ice time.
