Flames 3, Predators 2 (SO): Joe Colborne scored the only goal in the shootout as Calgary halted a five-game winless streak in Nashville.

Captain Mark Giordano and T.J. Brodie each recorded a goal and an assist as the Flames improved to 2-1-0 on their six-game road trip. Karri Ramo made 19 saves and denied all three attempts in the bonus format to hand the Predators their first setback.

Filip Forsberg and Mike Ribeiro scored for Nashville, which was attempting to win its first three at home since the 2005-06 season. Pekka Rinne turned aside 26 shots but had his four-game winning streak against Calgary come to an end.

Forsberg opened the scoring 8:46 into the contest, hammering a one-timer from the left faceoff dot past Ramo. The Flames answered 75 seconds later, when Brodie's sharp-angle backhander caromed off the stick of Predators defenseman Anton Volchenkov and past Rinne.

Giordano continued his sizzling start to the season with a power-play tally 5:19 into the second period, burying a shot from the top of the left circle for his fifth point. Nashville tied it nearly 10 minutes later as a loose puck squirted through a cluster of players, leaving Ribeiro with an easy conversion from the side of the net for his first goal with the Predators.

GAME NOTEBOOK: D Giordano has points in all four games for the Flames, who endured a scary moment when D Dennis Wideman had his hand/wrist cut by a skate blade but later returned to the contest. ... Predators C Derek Roy prevented a goal by stopping a backhander by Calgary RW Devin Setoguchi - a play that was confirmed by video review. ... Flames LW Lance Bouma took a hard hit from Nashville C Paul Gaustad along the corner boards early in the third period and did not return.
