Stars 3, Penguins 0: Kari Lehtonen turned aside 24 shots for his 25th career shutout and picked up an assist for the second straight game as host Dallas ran its winning streak to three.

Captain Jamie Benn and Rich Peverley each scored for the second game in a row and defenseman Sergei Gonchar had a power-play tally for the Stars, who have outscored opponents 14-1 during their three-game run. Lehtonen made 12 saves in the third period for his third shutout of the season and second in three games.

Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves in suffering his first career loss (6-1-0) against Dallas. The Penguins were blanked for only the third time this season and fell to 7-2-1 in January.

Gonchar gave Dallas the only goal it needed with a straightaway blast with the man advantage with 4:58 left in the first period. Benn, who had a four-point performance in Thursday's 7-1 rout of Toronto, doubled the lead 3:13 into the second period when he buried a cross-ice pass from former Pittsburgh defenseman Alex Goligoski from the bottom of the right circle.

The Stars added to the lead midway through the session after Shawn Horcoff forced a turnover at center ice and fed a crossing pass to Peverley, who beat Fleury glove side with a high wrister.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gonchar's tally marked the seventh game in a row that Dallas has scored a power-play goal, the team's longest streak since December 2010. ... Penguins C Andrew Ebbett returned to the lineup and played seven shifts after missing 21 games with a broken ankle ... Goligoski collected his fifth assist in three contests but saw his goalless drought reach 39 games.
