Chris Stewart and T.J. Oshie also scored and Halak registered an assist for the Blues, who are 1-1-0 on a three-game road trip that concludes Sunday in Calgary.

Halak turned aside four shots in the first period, eight in the second and seven in the third en route to his 25th career shutout and third this season. The 27-year-old improved to 7-1-1 lifetime against the Oilers.

Stewart gave Halak all the support he needed just 3:20 into the game when he beat Nikolai Khabibulin to the stick side with a snap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle. Steen doubled the lead less than three minutes into the third and Oshie capped the scoring with a nifty backhander from the doorstep with 8:51 remaining.

Khabibulin made 22 saves in his first appearance since Feb. 25 as Edmonton had its five-game point streak snapped.
