Blues 5, Flames 2: David Perron scored twice on the power play as visiting St. Louis won its second straight contest following a five-game winless streak.

Alex Steen had a goal and two assists to extend his point streak to five games, rookie Jaden Schwartz netted a tally and set up another and Patrik Berglund also scored for the Blues, who have recorded at least one power-play goal in eight straight contests. Rookie Jake Allen made 30 saves for his second win in as many career starts.

Curtis Glencross and defenseman Dennis Wideman scored for the Flames, who have one win in their last five home games. Joey MacDonald stopped 18 shots in relief of Leland Irving, who was pulled 4:07 into the game after allowing two goals on four shots.

Schwartz opened the scoring 1:28 into the first period and assisted on Berglund’s goal, which chased Irving. Steen increased the lead with this fourth goal in as many games and Perron made it 4-0 with the man advantage late in the period.

Perron added his second goal of the game and fifth of the season 4:08 into the third, gaining the offensive zone and unloading a wrist shot from the high slot that sailed over MacDonald’s shoulder and in off the crossbar. It was Perron’s second two-goal effort of the season and the 11th multi-goal performance of his career.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Flames D Jay Bouwmeester played his 600th consecutive game, the longest active ironman streak in the NHL and sixth-longest all-time. Bouwmeester finished with three shots and led all skaters with 27:46 time on ice. … Blues G Jaroslav Halak is hoping to return from a groin injury on Sunday in Vancouver. Halak is with the team on its three-game road trip. … Calgary captain Jarome Iginla assisted on Glencross’ goal to raise his career total to 69 points in 61 games against St. Louis.
